My Stuff

The My Stuff Gallery in Web Studio is your space inside Web Studio. Here you can gather and store your favorite graphics from your hard drive, your Clip art and photo collections, the Web, and even from graphics you create in Web Studio! You will find it an indispensable tool for all of your Web site building needs. With it you can make and save text buttons and your own unique page designs. Here is a look at how to use and get the most out of the My Stuff Gallery.

Adding Graphics to the My Stuff Gallery

There are several ways to add graphics to the My Stuff Gallery.

 Using the Insert Menu:

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Choose Insert > My Stuff Tab graphic.

3. The Windows Open dialog will appear and you can add as many files as you like.

4. To select more than one graphic at a time, hold down the CTRL key and click on several files.

5. To select an entire folder of graphics, hold down the Shift key, click on the first file name and then the last file name and the entire folder will be highlighted.

6. Click Open and the images will load into the My Stuff Gallery.

 

 Right click over the My Stuff Gallery:

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Right click over the Gallery and choose Add Files.

3. The Windows Open dialog will appear and you can add as many files as you like.

4. To select more than one graphic at a time, hold down the CTRL key and click on several files.

5. To select an entire folder of graphics, hold down the Shift key, click on the first file name and then the last file name and the entire folder will be highlighted.

6. Click Open and the images will load into the My Stuff Gallery.

 

 Drag and drop directly from your Web Browser:

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Align your Web browser window and Web Studio so that you can see both.

3. Drag the image from your Web Browser and drop it into the My Stuff gallery.

 

Drag and Drop from the Web Studio desktop:

You can add anything from the Web Studio desktop (the area that displays your pages) to the My Stuff Gallery. You can add a group of objects as one graphic or you can add a group of objects as individual objects. This allows you to design a page layout (e.g. a header, sidebar, and footer along with a button set) and save the entire layout for quick addition to your next page. This provides you with all the benefits of HTML Frames without having to do any of the programming.

In addition this allows you to make your own text buttons, and saving them for future use. (See how to make a text button in the Space and Merge page!)

 

 Group added as one:

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Select the object or group of objects in the Web Studio page window.

3. Hold down the CTRL + Shift keys and drag them into the My Stuff Gallery.

4. Release the mouse button and the object (or objects) will appear in the My Stuff Gallery.

 

 Group added as individuals:

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Select the object or group of objects in the Web Studio page window.

3. Hold down the CTRL + Shift keys and drag them into the My Stuff Gallery.

4. release one of the two keys, either CTRL or Shift, and Web Studio will load the objects one at a time, not as a group graphic!

 

Paste from the Windows Clipboard:

Any graphic that you can paste to the Windows Clipboard you can paste to the My Stuff Gallery.

1. Click on the My Stuff Gallery.

2. Open another program and copy a graphic to the clipboard.

3. Return to Web Studio and right click over the My Stuff Gallery.

4. Choose Paste.

5. The graphic will be copied to the My Stuff Gallery.

 

Deleting graphics from the My Stuff Gallery

1. Select the My Stuff Gallery tab.

2. Right click over the graphic you wish to delete.

3. Select delete.

 

Reordering the My Stuff Gallery

1. You can keep your My Stuff Gallery tidy by dragging and dropping the thumbnails in the gallery. This allows you to reorder the gallery and keep your most used content at the start of the gallery for easy access.

 

Important Note: The contents of the Web Studio My Stuff Gallery are saved in a native Web Studio file (a file that only Web Studio can read). If you like a graphic you have created in Web Studio, then simply copy it to the Windows Clipboard and save it to a folder for your use in other programs.
